Magnet, All-LOXX®, or retention kit.
Pick the install that matches what you ordered. Mag is tool-free. Factory All-LOXX® locks on with positive fasteners. DIY retention kits need a ⅜" drill and a careful bond.

Magnet install.
For Magnetic Series UTV covers (and the Mag side of RV hybrids). One-time setup · usually under 15 minutes · no tools.
Before you start
Every Mag cover ships with:
- FIT windshield cover (custom-cut, N52 magnets in the perimeter)
- Interior magnet set (glow-in-the-dark center sticker + adhesive backing)
- Install / warranty inserts
- Any accessories you ordered (cleaner, removable pads, etc.)
You’ll also want: painter’s tape and clean hands. No special tools.
1. Position the cover on the outside
Hold or tape the cover flat against the outside of the windshield so the perimeter sits where you want it. Painter’s tape at the corners keeps it steady while you work from inside.
2. Peel one interior magnet
Each interior magnet has a glow sticker for alignment. Use the factory 3M VHB for a permanent mount, or a nano suction pad if you want removable magnets.
3. Line up & press from inside
From inside, align the glow sticker behind a cover magnet on the outside — you’ll feel the snap. Press 10–15 seconds. Repeat around the perimeter.
4. Wait 30 minutes, then test
Let adhesive set. Remove the cover, bring it back from about an inch away, and confirm it snaps flush all the way around.
All-LOXX® install.
For covers ordered as All-LOXX® (or Mag covers factory-upgraded to All-LOXX®). Fasteners are already in the cover — you’re bonding the LOXX bases to the vehicle, not sewing magnets.
1. Clean every mount point
Wipe the metal base area and the glass with isopropyl alcohol. No wax, silicone, or dirty film. Let it flash dry.
2. Dry-fit the cover
Hold the cover up on the windshield exactly where it will live. Confirm fastener locations look right before you commit adhesive.
3. Bond each LOXX® base
Peel the adhesive on the back of the base or apply polyurethane bonding adhesive to the base. Press the base to the cleaned surface and hold firm pressure for at least 60 seconds. Repeat for every fastener location.
4. Cure, then lock on
Follow adhesive cure time on the product you used (don’t rush highway miles). Then place the cover and engage each LOXX® lock until it clicks positive.

LOXX® Retention Kit install.
If you purchased the LOXX® Retention Kit to retrofit a Mag cover or replace fasteners, use these steps. This is hardware install — not the Mag magnet process.
A. Prepare the cover (drill the holes)
- Mark where you want each LOXX® fastener on the cover.
- Using a ⅜" drill bit, drill out the holes at those marks.
- Push the LOXX® fastener through the cover from the outside face.
- Put the washer on the back side of the cover.
- Screw the back part of the fastener onto the backside until the assembly is snug and the cover is clamped cleanly — don’t crush the foam core.
B. Bond the bases on the vehicle
- Clean the metal base and the glass with alcohol. Both surfaces must be clean and dry.
- Hold the cover up to the glass where you want the fasteners to sit so you can see final alignment.
- Peel the adhesive on the back of each base or apply polyurethane bonding on the back of the base.
- Press the base down and hold in place with firm pressure for at least 60 seconds.
- Repeat for every base. Allow full cure before highway use.
If something’s off.
Cover doesn’t feel tight (Mag)+
Check that every interior magnet lined up with a cover magnet — one magnet off by ¼" can cut hold a lot. Give adhesive a full hour before highway testing.
Interior magnet popped off the glass+
Usually the glass wasn’t cleaned well enough (or it was installed cold). Wipe with alcohol, warm glass above ~65°F, then re-apply with fresh adhesive. We don’t send free replacement magnets for this — reach out to info@fitprotection.com if you need new adhesives, which could come with a fee.
LOXX® base won’t stay bonded+
Re-clean metal and glass with alcohol, remove old adhesive residue, and re-bond with firm 60+ second pressure. Polyurethane bonding adhesive helps on difficult surfaces. Don’t tow until fully cured.
Cover whistles or flaps at speed+
Check the top edge first. Reseat a quarter inch lower or confirm every Mag/LOXX point is engaged. Send a photo to support if it persists.
