What is nano suction tape?

Nano suction tape isn't really "tape" in the traditional sense — it's a microscopic suction surface made from a soft acrylic gel. Under a microscope, the surface is covered in millions of tiny vacuum cups that grip smooth surfaces like glass with serious holding power, but release cleanly when you peel them off. No glue. No solvents. No residue.

The same technology is used in marine cable management, professional wall mounts, and reusable display systems where you need a strong hold that can also be removed without damage.

How it works on your FIT cover

Each interior magnet ships with a permanent 3M VHB tape backing — designed for one-time install where the magnets live on your glass forever. With these mounting pads, you swap that permanent tape for a nano suction pad on each magnet:

1. Peel a pad off the carrier sheet. Each pad is roughly the size of a magnet face — about 48mm.
2. Press it firmly to the back of an interior magnet. 10 seconds is enough; the pad will bond to the magnet permanently.
3. Press the magnet to a clean glass spot. The nano-suction side grips the windshield. Use the glow-in-the-dark alignment sticker on the magnet face to line up with the cover magnet on the outside.
4. To remove later: lift the magnet straight off the glass. No tugging, no peeling, no residue.
5. Re-stick or reposition as often as you want. Rinse the pad with water if it loses grip — the suction surface is washable.

FAQ

Will the cover still hold at highway speed?
Yes. Nano suction pads are rated for windshield use including highway and crosswind conditions. Same retention class as the 3M VHB install.

Can I switch from 3M VHB to nano pads later?
If your magnets are already permanently installed with 3M VHB, you'd need to remove them first (which will leave some residue — use rubbing alcohol to clean the glass) and then re-mount with the nano pads. We recommend choosing one or the other at first install.

Will the nano pads damage my window tint?
No. Nano suction is non-marring and works on tinted glass. We recommend waiting 2+ weeks after fresh tint install before mounting anything to it.

Are these the same as your magnetic retention system?
No — these are just the mounting pads. You still need a FIT windshield cover (sold separately) and its included interior magnets. These pads replace the permanent 3M VHB tape on the magnet backs.

How long do they last?
Years of normal use. The suction surface can be washed and re-stuck dozens of times. If a pad eventually loses grip, replace it from the 12-pack.
