Forest River is the largest RV manufacturer in North America, producing 30+ sub-brands across travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, and toy haulers. The brand list reads like a phone book: Cedar Creek, Salem, Wildwood, Cherokee, Flagstaff, Rockwood, Sierra, Riverstone, Sandpiper, Surveyor, Wildcat, IBEX, NoBo, Heritage Glen, Impression, Alpha Wolf, Geo Pro, R-Pod, Campsite, Surveyor Legend, XLR, Salem Hemisphere, Salem FSX, and many more.
These sub-brands DO NOT all share front-cap molds. Two trailers from different sub-brands at the same length often have completely different windshield dimensions. This guide shows how the major Forest River sub-brands group, and which covers fit which.
TL;DR
- Forest River = 4 size classes of front-cap molds: compact, mid, large, luxury
- Cedar Creek and Riverstone = luxury class (largest, most premium)
- Salem Hemisphere = mid-large class
- Salem FSX, Wildwood, Cherokee Lite = compact class
- Cross-brand sharing within size class is common but not universal — verify

When same-class covers DON'T interchange
Even within a size class, slight variations exist. Three reasons covers might not interchange:
1. Year-of-manufacture changes
Forest River refreshes front-cap designs every 3-7 years. A 2019 Cedar Creek and a 2024 Cedar Creek have different windshield dimensions. Always check year as well as model.
2. Floorplan-specific variations
Some sub-brands offer multiple floorplans with different front-cap configurations. Salem Hemisphere has at least 3 different cap profiles depending on which floorplan you bought.
3. Vertical vs angled cap
Some Forest River models offer both vertical-cap and angled-cap options. The cover for a vertical-cap unit doesn't fit an angled-cap unit even if everything else is the same.
Verifying your specific cover fit
Three steps:
1. Check the catalog for your year/model
Browse FIT covers for Forest River → — we list 25+ Forest River sub-brands. Find your year/model and the cover is pre-mapped.
2. If not in the catalog, request a custom-fit
Custom Fit form — enter your year, sub-brand, model, and floorplan. We'll either confirm an existing pattern works or build a new pattern.
3. Verify with measurements
Before installing the first time, dry-fit the cover and verify all 4 corners reach the windshield edges. If anything is more than 1" off, contact us before placing magnets.

Why model-specific matters even more for Forest River
Three reasons Forest River specifically requires model-specific covers more than other manufacturers:
1. Sub-brand variation
Most other manufacturers (Keystone, Jayco, Coachmen) have 5-10 sub-brands. Forest River has 30+. The probability that a "generic Forest River" cover fits your specific model is small.
2. Year-over-year refresh
Forest River refreshes front caps more aggressively than competitors. A "Forest River cover" sold without a year range is suspect.
3. Floorplan customization
Many Forest River models offer 5-10 floorplan options that affect front-cap configuration. The cover for one floorplan doesn't fit another in some cases.
A custom-fit cover from our catalog (or a custom-build for unlisted models) handles all three issues.

FAQ
Can I use a Cedar Creek cover on a Riverstone Legacy? No. Riverstone Legacy is the luxury tier with a larger front cap (86-92" vs 82-86"). Each requires its own cover.
Does Forest River share front caps with Keystone or Jayco? No. Forest River, Keystone, and Jayco are separate manufacturers (though all are owned by Berkshire Hathaway). They don't share molds or designs.
Why does Forest River have so many sub-brands? Forest River grew through acquisitions over the last 20 years. Each sub-brand was originally a separate company; Forest River keeps the brand identities for marketing and dealer-network reasons. The actual production happens at shared facilities but with different designs.
How do I know if my Forest River trailer is in the catalog? Visit our RV collection page and search by manufacturer. We list 25+ Forest River sub-brands. If yours isn't there, request a custom build — we usually have a pattern within 7-14 days.
Will a 2024 Forest River cover fit a 2026 model of the same trailer? Usually yes — Forest River doesn't refresh annually. Major front-cap refreshes happen every 3-7 years. Within a refresh cycle, covers are interchangeable.
Can I add UV coverage to a Forest River cover that's already in our catalog? All FIT covers ship with 99.9% UV-A and UV-B blocking marine-grade vinyl. There's no "UV add-on" because it's standard. The Carbon Fiber Vinyl Upgrade is an aesthetic option, not a UV upgrade.
