The Polaris RZR family is the most popular UTV platform in North America — and the most fragmented for windshield covers. Across the full lineup you'll find five distinct cab variants with different windshield curvatures and dimensions:
- RZR Pro XP (2-seat sport)
- RZR Pro XP 4 (4-seat sport)
- RZR Turbo R (high-performance 2-seat)
- RZR XP 1000 (older platform, smaller cab)
- RZR Pro R 4 (premium 4-seat)
Each one needs a cover cut specifically for its windshield. A "RZR cover" sold generically only fits one of these well — and the others end up with gaps, sagging, or pinch points on the wiper arm.
TL;DR
- 5 distinct cab variants in the RZR family, each needing a model-specific cover
- Wiper vs no-wiper — most aftermarket wiper kits change the windshield clearance
- Magnetic mount preferred over strap mount for cage protection
- Custom-fit prevents the dust and rain ingress that universal covers have
- All FIT RZR covers include patented removable magnets and 1-year warranty
RZR Pro XP (2-seat, 2020-current)
The flagship 2-seat sport platform. Aggressive forward-leaning windshield with a sharp top edge.
Cover dimensions: approximately 48"×34" (model-specific cut) Wiper option: yes — order with cutout if running aftermarket wiper kit Standard inclusions: custom-cut cover, 4 inside-glass magnets, photo install guide, premium storage bag
The Pro XP has a slight roof-line overhang that creates a tricky upper-edge fit. Universal covers leave a gap at the top corners; our cover wraps under the roof line for full coverage.

RZR Pro XP 4 (4-seat, 2020-current)
The 4-seat extended-cab variant. Same windshield height as the Pro XP but wider cab and longer wheelbase.
Cover dimensions: approximately 56"×34" (4-seat-specific cut) Why it differs from Pro XP: the wider cab means the cover is 8" wider; using a Pro XP cover on a Pro XP 4 leaves both side-pillars exposed.

RZR Turbo R (2-seat, 2022-current)
Polaris's flagship sport platform. Different windshield from the Pro XP — slightly more aggressive rake, taller upper edge.
The Turbo R uses a wider cage configuration than the Pro XP, which changes cover routing on the bottom edge. Custom cuts compensate; universal covers don't.
RZR XP 1000 (older platform, 2014-2019)
The pre-Pro-XP generation. Smaller cab, more vertical windshield, different cage attachment points.
Cover dimensions: approximately 44"×30" Why people still need this: there are tens of thousands of XP 1000s still in active service. Mostly recreational riders who haven't upgraded.
The XP 1000 windshield is more vertical than the Pro XP; the cover is correspondingly smaller and squarer.
RZR Pro R 4 (premium 4-seat, 2022-current)
The top-of-the-line 4-seat. Larger cab than Pro XP 4, more luxury equipment, slightly taller windshield.
A Pro R 4 cover doesn't interchange with a Pro XP 4 even though both are 4-seat platforms — the cab dimensions differ by 3-4 inches.
Wiper vs no-wiper covers
About half of RZR owners run an aftermarket wiper kit. The wiper kit changes the cover's bottom-edge geometry — there has to be a cutout for the wiper arm or the cover pinches it during install.
Order the wiper-cutout variant if: - You have a Polaris OEM wiper installed - You have an aftermarket wiper kit (Polaris Lock & Ride, RZR Toys, etc.) - You plan to use the cover while parked but want the wiper accessible
Order the no-wiper variant if: - Your cab uses just the windshield with no wiper - You don't plan to install a wiper later
Most owners choose no-wiper because they install the cover only when the rig is parked or in transport — the wiper isn't being used in those moments anyway.
Why magnetic mount matters for RZRs specifically
UTV covers face a unique abuse: branch slap, dust, mud, transport vibration. Strap covers fail on RZRs especially because:
- Cage attachment — straps loop around the roll cage. The strap saws through the cage powder coat in a single season of dusty riding, exposing bare metal that rusts.
- Wiper arm strap — the strap loops around the wiper arm. Wiper arm housings on a RZR aren't replaceable individually; you replace the whole assembly when worn through.
- Universal sizing — a strap cover sold for "all RZR" is sized for the largest model. On a smaller XP 1000 it sags 4" at the top.
A magnetic cover attaches via the inside of the windshield only — zero contact with the cage, zero wear on wipers, custom-fit per cab.
What about hard-shell upgrades?
Polaris and aftermarket brands sell hard-shell windshield replacements (polycarbonate, with quick-release tabs). Those go IN PLACE OF your stock windshield, not OVER it.
A FIT cover sits over your existing windshield (whether OEM or aftermarket hard-shell) and protects it from UV, dust, and impact damage when parked or in transport. The two products serve different purposes.
Riding accessories that pair well
If you ride hard, a few accessories reduce the load on your windshield cover:
- Patented Removable Magnets — swap the cover between your RZR and another rig in your fleet
- FIT Vinyl Cleaner Kit — clean dust, mud, and bug splatter without degrading the UV coating
- 2-Year Extended Warranty — covers material defects beyond the standard 1-year

FAQ
Will a RZR Pro XP cover fit a RZR Turbo R? No. The Turbo R has a slightly different windshield rake and a wider cage attachment than the Pro XP. Each requires its own cover.
Do I need a different cover for my RZR if I added a 2-inch lift? No, the lift doesn't change windshield dimensions. The cover fits the same regardless of suspension setup.
Can I use one FIT cover on multiple RZRs in my garage? If both rigs are the same model and year (e.g., two Pro XPs), yes — the patented removable magnets are designed for swap. Different models (Pro XP vs Turbo R) need separate covers.
How long does a RZR windshield cover last with regular off-road use? A marine-grade UV-block cover used for typical recreational riding (10-30 days a year) lasts 5-7 years. Heavy daily-use riders or those in dust/sand environments typically see 3-5 years. The magnets are indefinite.
Is a windshield cover overkill for a $20,000 RZR? No. The factory windshield on a Pro XP is $400-$700 to replace, plus the dust accumulation in the cab from running uncovered destroys interior trim. A $349 cover prevents 90%+ of these costs.
Can I install a RZR cover by myself? Yes — magnetic install is 90 seconds with no tools. Place the inside-glass magnets first time, then drop the cover on. Subsequent installs are 30 seconds.
