Why We Only Build Covers in the USA (And Why It Matters)

Updated July 2026 — this article was rewritten to reflect our current operations in Laveen, Arizona under FIT Protection's 2026 ownership.
Most covers ship from a factory that will never see your rig
The typical RV or UTV windshield cover sold online is a universal-size sheet produced overseas in bulk, shipped in a container, and dropped in a warehouse. Nobody who made it knows what a Rockwood front window or a Defender windshield actually looks like — and it shows the first time the wind gets under a corner that was never cut for your glass.
We do it differently, and it's the whole reason FIT Protection exists.
Every FIT cover is hand-built in Laveen, Arizona
Our shop is at 3343 W Elliot Road in Laveen, Arizona. Every cover we sell is cut, sewn, and finished there — by our own team, to order, from a model-specific pattern in our own DXF library. Nothing is pulled from a shelf of pre-made universals, because there is no shelf: your cover doesn't exist until you order it.
Building in our own shop means the people responsible for quality are the same people whose name is on the door. Before any cover ships, it gets checked against the pattern it was cut from — seam alignment, edge binding, magnet or LOXX® fastener placement, and finish. You get a photo of your finished cover with your tracking number, because we think you should see what you paid for before it arrives.
What USA manufacturing changes for you
- Turnaround: made-to-order in 5–7 business days, shipped from Arizona — not 6–8 weeks on a container ship.
- Materials we choose ourselves: marine-grade vinyl, impact-absorbing foam core, UV-stable bonded thread, and reinforced acrylic edge binding — specified by us, not substituted by a factory we've never met.
- Real accountability: if something's wrong, the people who built your cover are the ones who fix it. Warranty claims route straight to our shop, and we answer within one business day.
- Custom capability: if your model isn't in our catalog, we can pattern and build a one-off — because the production floor is ours.
Is every part US-made?
The cover itself — vinyl, foam, thread, binding, assembly — is built in our Arizona shop. Some components are sourced globally: our LOXX® fasteners come from Germany (we're LOXX's exclusive North American partner for windshield and window protection), and some packaging materials are imported. We'd rather tell you exactly how it breaks down than print a vague flag on the box.
